The invention discloses a system and method for snapshooting vehicles which comp in and out of a parking place on road parking spaces. The system comprises a geomagnetic sensor, a parking base station and cameras. When the system works, first the geomagnetic sensor is mounted on a needed parking space, the geomagnetic sensor can judge whether vehicles travel in and out or not according to variation of an earth magnetic field of the parking space, when the geomagnetic sensor detects that variation of the earth magnetic field happens, the geomagnetic sensor sends self information and occupied information to the parking base station through wireless signals, and at last the parking base station triggers the corresponding camera to take pictures through the received content and the number of the geomagnetic sensor.
