Abstract

The invention discloses an electromagnetic switch used in a vehicle starter. The electromagnetic switch comprises a housing which limits an axial direction, a cover potion which supports a pair of binding posts and has a front end fixed in the housing, an electromagnetic core which is installed in the housing and is disposed on the front surface of the end portion, and an elastic element which is axially provided with a maximum elasticity compression amount and is clamped between the cover portion and the electromagnetic core by a pres-elasticity compression amount smaller than the maximum elasticity compression amount, wherein the front side of the electromagnetic core is supported by the housing, and the rear side of the electromagnetic core is supported by the elastic element. The invention further discloses a vehicle starter comprising the electromagnetic switch. According to the invention, the axial movement of the cover portion can be reduced.
