The character animation achieving method is characterized in that the maps correspond to Group containers in real time, namely the (0,0) positions of the Group containers always correspond to coordinates (minLong, maxLat) of the maps; a longitude and latitude coordinate of each person is converted to a screen coordinate so that the screen coordinates correspond to the coordinates in the Group containers in a one-to-one mode; invoking different pictures according the advancing directions the persons to form the animation effect. By adopting the method, the dependency on map development kits and API of achievement of map picture layer adding data and corresponding functions is overcome.
