Problems solved by technology

[0005] The technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a de-interlacing method based on edge detection, which makes it easier for edge detection to obtain consistent results on a whole edge, and solves the "long" problem of existing edge detection technology that spans many scanning lines. Defects that may cause wrong judgments or missed judgments in edge detection

Embodiment Construction

[0050] The present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments.

[0051] The present invention provides a de-interlacing method based on edge detection, which firstly calculates the gradient in the vertical direction (that is, the vertical gradient), and decides whether to perform vertical interpolation or edge detection according to the gradient value. If edge detection is required, choose to use conventional edge detection or edge detection using edge inheritance information according to whether there is edge inheritance information. After the edge detection is completed, it is necessary to confirm whether the selected edge interpolation direction is reliable by performing a second confirmation on the selected edge interpolation direction. If it is reliable, the edge information is passed on through inheritance information transmission, and then the edge information is used for interpolation output. If t...

Abstract

Provided in the invention is a deinterlacing method based on edge detection. The method comprises: a vertical direction gradient is calculated; with combination of edge inheriting information of a neighboring point, an edge interpolation direction is determined primarily; secondary confirmation is carried out on the edge interpolation direction determined primarily; and filtering processing is carried out along the confirmed edge direction to obtain a pixel value of a to-be-interpolated point. According to the invention, with utilization of the edge inheriting information, edges that have certain lengths and occur in an image and a video frequently can be detected well based on the method. Compared with the traditional method, same or similar edge directions for the whole edge can be obtained easily; a breaking point and coarse effect caused by false judgment and leaky judgment can be prevented; the overall effect of the deinterlacing output becomes clear; and the edge becomes coherent and smooth.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of image processing, in particular to an edge detection-based deinterlacing method. Background technique [0002] In order to save transmission bandwidth, the existing TV broadcasting transmission system usually adopts interlaced scanning technology. Each video frame of interlaced scanning technology only transmits one field (half frame) of information, and half of the row data is removed at intervals, which is called interlaced image. Field and even field remove even and odd lines, respectively. Therefore, there will be flickering, roughness, and discontinuity between lines on the horizontal edge of the image, and jaggedness will easily appear on moving images, resulting in a decrease in clarity and a poor video viewing experience. With the advancement of display technology, displays have gradually developed from traditional CRT displays to liquid crystal and OLED displays, and the resolution that display screens ca...
