An improved heater for processing materials or growing crystals in supercritical fluids is provided. In a specific embodiment, the heater is scalable up to very large volumes and is cost effective. The invention provides a new method that comprises obtaining a body of highly oriented graphite (61) and patterning at least a surface layer of the body by removing the substance of the body outside the predefined pattern. Thereafter, the method comprises stamping a graphene structure (65) on the substrate (62) by pressing the patterned surface layer of the body (61) against the substrate (62). A trapping device includes upper lure and lower detention compartments, and a trapping mechanism. The trapping mechanism includes infrared sensors provided in the lure compartment, first and second trapdoors, and a control circuit board for receiving signals from the infrared sensors to pivotally turn the first and the second trapdoor. A medical valve device for use in selectively establishing a fluid flow between first and second medical implements is disclosed. The valve has a body defining a passage from a first port to a second port. The valve defines a first fluid volume when both medical implements are connected thereto, and a second, smaller volume when one of the implements is disconnected, thereby causing a positive flow of fluid from the valve to the second medical implement when the first implement is disconnected.

The present invention provides a method for removing moisture from fluorine-containing compounds, the method comprising bringing a fluorine-containing compound contaminated with moisture into contact with an aqueous solution containing a metal salt. The method of the present invention can continuously and efficiently remove moisture from various fluorine-containing compounds, such as hydrofluoroolefins. In addition, the method produces less waste, etc., and is an industrially advantageous moisture removal method.
