The alarming method is used for configuring monitoring indexes for an information system, and respectively configuring threshold engine, a policy engine and an alarming engine for various monitoring indexes, and comprises the following steps: collecting data corresponding to various monitoring indexes in the information system, and transmitting the collected data to an operational database; carrying out sorted storing on the collected data by the operational database according to the data type; judging whether the data of various monitoring indexes stored in the operational database are in a threshold range or not according to the threshold engine; when the data of a target monitoring index are not in the threshold range, further judging whether the data of the target monitoring index meet the policy which is set by the target monitoring index in the policy engine or not; and when the data of the target monitoring index meet the policy which is set by the target monitoring index in the policy engine, alarming by virtue of the alarming engine. According to the scheme, the unreasonable monitoring indexes are rapidly reminded.
