Problems solved by technology

Since the voltage levels of the digital circuit power supply and the analog circuit power supply are different, the power-on reset circuit needs to use two bandgap reference voltages (one is the high-voltage (HV) bandgap reference voltage, and the other is the low-voltage (LV) bandgap reference voltage ), thus occupying considerable circuit area and increasing manufacturing cost
[0004] Therefore, there is an urgent need to propose a novel power-on reset circuit to solve the shortcomings of traditional power-on reset circuits without sacrificing reset performance.

Embodiment Construction

[0023] figure 1 A system block diagram of a power-on-reset (POR) circuit 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. The power-on-reset circuit 100 of this embodiment is applicable to a system with dual power supplies (such as a digital circuit power VDDD and an analog circuit power VDDA) for power-on reset.

[0024] The power-on reset circuit 100 includes a reference voltage detection unit 12 that receives the output of the bandgap reference voltage 11 for detecting whether the bandgap reference voltage 11 has started up or reached a stable output. The power-on reset circuit 100 further includes two comparison units, namely, a first comparison unit 13 and a second comparison unit 14 . Wherein, the first comparison unit 13 compares the adjusted first power supply VDDD (such as a digital circuit power supply) with the bandgap reference voltage 11, and the adjusted first power supply VDDD can be obtained by a voltage divider, such as figure 1 shown. In a...

Abstract

A power-on reset circuit includes a reference voltage detection unit that receives an output of an energy gap reference voltage; a first comparison unit that compares an adjusted first power supply with an energy gap reference voltage; a second comparison unit that compares an adjusted second power source with an energy gap reference voltage. When all outputs of the reference voltage detection unit, the first comparison unit and the second comparison unit are confirmed, the first reset signal generation unit outputs a first reset signal, which changes from the reset mode to the normal state. When the trigger signal is active, the second reset signal generating unit causes the second reset signal to transition from the reset mode to the normal state according to the first reset signal.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a power-on reset circuit, in particular to a power-on reset circuit using only a single bandgap reference voltage. Background technique [0002] A power-on-reset (POR) circuit is commonly used in integrated circuits to detect the power supply of the integrated circuit and generate a reset signal accordingly, so that the integrated circuit can be initialized and enter a preset state. [0003] The bandgap reference voltage is widely used as a reference voltage in power-on reset circuits and other circuits because the voltage output is not changed by temperature changes. Since today's integrated circuits usually include digital circuits and analog circuits, it is necessary to supply digital circuit power and analog circuit power separately. Since the voltage levels of the digital circuit power supply and the analog circuit power supply are different, the power-on reset circuit needs to use two bandgap reference voltages (...
