The GIS double-bus distribution equipment fault detection method comprises the following steps: detecting the state of a busbar and the state of a breaker and a busbar disconnecting link of each outlet wire, wherein the state of the breaker and the disconnecting link comprises a closed state and a broken state; according to the breaker, the disconnecting link and the state, constructing a physical model of GIS double-bus distribution equipment; respectively obtaining each outlet wire current, and substituting each outlet wire current into the physical model to determine current prediction values of busbar current and two disconnecting link braches of outlet wires side by side; respectively measuring current measuring values of the busbar current and the two disconnecting link braches of the outlet wires side by side; calculating differences between the current prediction values of the busbar current and the two disconnecting link braches of the outlet wires side by side and the corresponding current measuring values, and determining the differences by use of a preset criterion; and according to a determination result, determining a fault state of the GIS double-bus distribution equipment.
