The control method comprises the steps of making the fingerprint detecting chip enter a gesture detecting mode; respectively scanning the plurality of sub-detecting areas in N detecting periods for generating triggering area information which respectively correspond with the N detecting periods, wherein the triggering area information is the information of the sub-detecting area which is triggered in the corresponding detecting period; acquiring a user gesture according to the triggering area information which respectively correspond with the N detecting periods; and controlling the mobile terminal according to the user gesture.
