Abstract

The invention concerns a rail crossing device (1) designed for crossing a first rail (5) embedded in a road surface (4) with a guide rail (21), embedded in the road surface (4). It comprises at least one extensible portion (32) provided in the guide rail (21) and at least one manoeuvring means (33). This manoeuvring means (33) is designed to extend and contract the extensible portion (32) in a lengthwise direction, defining a contracted position in which one end (28) of the guide rail (21) is separated from the first rail (5) to allow a vehicle or any other movable device to travel along this rail, and an extended position in which said end (28) of the guide rail (21) is moved towards the first rail (5) in order to guide a vehicle onto the guide rail (21).
