Embodiments of the invention provide a method and a device for sorting video playlists. One specific embodiment of the method comprises the following steps of responding to a received video search request and obtaining each candidate video playlist which conforms to a search condition; obtaining attribute information of each candidate video playlist from the attribute information which is correspondingly pre-stored for each video playlist, wherein the attribute information comprises a performance score of each candidate video playlist and a scale score of an uploader on each candidate video playlist; determining a sorting score of each candidate video playlist based on the performance score of each candidate video playlist and the scale score of the uploader the each candidate video playlist; and sorting each candidate video playlist according to the sorting score of each candidate video playlist.
