[0081] The methods, devices, and GUIs described herein respond to input on a fingerprint sensor instead of or in addition to input on a touch-sensitive surface or other input device. In some implementations, a touch-sensitive surface with a spatial resolution high enough to detect fingerprint features formed by individual fingerprint ridges is used as a fingerprint sensor. When a fingerprint sensor is used without a separate touch-sensitive surface, the fingerprint sensor can be used as a replacement for many of the functions of a touch-sensitive surface with a much smaller form factor because the fingerprint sensor can detect contact over the fingerprint sensor even if the fingerprint has an area as large as or larger than the area of the fingerprint sensor.
