Abstract

The invention provides an energy saving method of multiple controllers based on SDN (Software Defined Network) network architecture and a device based on the SDN (Software Defined Network) network architecture. The method comprises following steps of receiving a signal sent by each controller in each cluster, wherein the signal comprises a controller identifier and a current load capacity corresponding to the controller identifier; according to the current load capacity corresponding to each controller identifier, and the energy consumption parameter and containable maximum load capacity corresponding to each controller identifier, obtaining the total energy consumption value of all controllers; judging whether the total energy consumption value is more than a first preset energy consumption value or not; if the total energy consumption value is not more than the first preset energy consumption value, according to the current load capacity, time delay parameter, theoretical load capacity and containable maximum load capacity corresponding to each controller in each cluster, obtaining to-be-closed controllers; sending closing requests to the to-be-closed controllers, wherein the to-be-closed controllers receiving the closing requests close according to the closing requests. Under a condition that the SDN network architecture operates normally, low energy consumption is realized; the energy is saved; and the environment is protected.
