The invention relates to a network connection method and device, wherein the network connection method comprises following steps of establishing connection with a server by using a first protocol; monitoring connection response time of the server; establishing connection with the server by using a second protocol if the connection response time exceeds a preset threshold value; starting countdown; continuing to establish connection with the server by using the second protocol before the countdown is finished; and establishing connection with the server by using the first protocol after the countdown is finished. According to the embodiment of the method and the device, the connection with the server by using the first protocol and the connection with the server by using the second protocol can be kept by monitoring the connection response time of the server; the suitable network connection mode is determined according to the practical conditions of a network; the user experience and the user information security are both taken into consideration; and the satisfaction degree of using an e-commerce application by a user can be improved.
