The present invention relates to an electrically operated aerosol generating system (100). The system comprises: a housing (102); an aerosol-forming substrate; at least one heating element (106) for heating the aerosol-forming substrate to generate an aerosol; for supplying electrical power to the at least one heating element a power supply (108); a circuit (110) for controlling power supply from the power supply (108) to the at least one heating element (106); a first a switch (114); and a mouthpiece (112) including at least one second touch-sensitive switch (116), the mouthpiece (112) being deformable from a first configuration to a second configuration, wherein in the first configuration, The at least one second touch-sensitive switch (116) is not exposed and in the second configuration, the at least one second touch-sensitive switch (116) is exposed.
