Abstract

The invention discloses a shape modification method used for metal support RCS estimation. The method is used for carrying out shape modification on a cross section so as to reduce scattering caused by a truncation effect when an illumination area portion of a metal support is intercepted to carry out RCS estimation during an external field RCS test. The method is characterized by aiming at two polarization modes of VV and HH, carrying out shape modification; aiming at VV polarization, constructing that a forward transition curved surface is connected to a front chopping blade of the metal support and the cross section in a smooth mode respectively and constructing that a backward transition curved surface is connected to a rear chopping blade of the metal support and the cross section in a smooth mode respectively; and aiming at HH polarization, extending a backward end point of the cross section for a preset distance along a backward direction, taking the extended point as the backward end point and constructing a new cross section, and taking the new cross section as an interception surface and constructing a shape of an interception portion of the metal support.
