Abstract

The present invention provides a video coding method including an intrablock copy mode. In one embodiment, the reference picture list includes IntraBC reference pictures corresponding to the current and partially reconstructed pictures. If the IntraBC mode is selected for the current CU, the current CU is coded using an IntraBC predictor based on an IntraBC picture selected from the reference picture list. After the current CU is coded, the reconstructed block is generated and used for updating the IBC reference picture.
