Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a system for predicting an image quality level, the method includes the following steps: selecting multiple specific images, calculating a first IQM value of each selected specific image, determining a specific NIIRS value of each specific image based on the first IQM value; fitting in conducted according to an image quality grade forecast formula based on the calculated the first IQM value and the specific NIIRS value, and determining the coefficient a and the coefficient b in the image quality grade forecast formula, wherein the image quality grade forecast formula is NIIRS=a-Log10 * IQM+b; calculating a second IQM value of the to-be-evaluated image; substituting the second IQM value into the determined image quality grade forecast formula, and calculating a NIIRS value of the to-be-evaluated image.
