Background technique [0001] The present invention relates to the treatment or prevention of seborrheic keratoses of the skin using topical formulations, in particular topical formulations. Furthermore, it relates to topical formulations suitable for this purpose. [0002] Seborrheic keratosis is one of the most common noncancerous, benign epidermal skin tumors. It is a harmless skin growth derived from keratinocytes of the epidermis. Keratinocytes are the major cell type of the epidermis (the outermost layer of the skin), accounting for 80% of the cells found therein. Those keratinocytes found in the base layer (basal layer) of the epidermis are sometimes called "basal cells" or "basal keratinocytes."
