The invention discloses a construction method of multi-tenant database to meet the differentiated demands of tenants. The method comprises following steps: modeling on storage performance requirement of a tenant, privacy requirement, data customized degree requirement and failure recovery capacity requirement; modeling on query performance features, isolation level features, customization degree features and sharing level features of the data model; matching the requirement of the tenant with the data model features to obtain a data model candidate set satisfying tenant requirements; modeling on database hardware cost using CPU resource cost and memory resource cost; obtaining a quantified expression of hardware cost through the hardware cost model; obtaining a data model having the minimum cost through the tenant requirement, the data model candidate set and the data hardware cost as a target data model. By means of the method of the invention, tenant requirements are satisfied, proper target data models are selected for tenants, more efficient multi-tenant database is established and at the same time the cost of service providers is reduced.
