Abstract

The embodiments of the invention disclose a message forwarding method and a network switching device. The network switching device includes a safety board and a plurality of switching boards. After receiving a service message, the plurality of switching boards, rather than directly forward the service message, forward the service message to the safety board. If a first type of switching boards receive the service message from outside, then the service message is directly transmitted to the safety board; and if a non-first type of switching boards receive the service message from the outside, then the service message is forwarded to the safety board through the first type of switching boards.
