The invention provides a ratchet life test device of a transfer mechanism. The test device comprises a swiveling wheel of a cylindrical structure, a ratchet simulated piece and a transmission shaft; tangent planes are uniformly distributed in the cylindrical surface of the cylindrical structure, and grooves are formed in the tangent planes respectively; the bottom of the ratchet simulated piece includes a boss which matches the grooves in the tangent planes of the swiveling wheel; and one end of the transmission shaft is connected with a decelerator, and the other end of the transmission shaft is fixedly connected with a first support piece. The invention also provides a test method of the ratchet life test device of the transfer mechanism. According to the test device, the transmission shaft drives the swiveling wheel so that the ratchet simulated piece on the swiveling wheel and a ratchet of the transfer mechanism make relative movement to test the service life of the ratchet of the transfer mechanism; multiple ratchet simulated pieces can be installed in the device simultaneously for test; and thus, the test efficiency is improved, the structure is simple and use is convenient.
