Abstract

The invention provides a method and a system for calibrating the differential phase shift of dual polarization radar. The method comprises the steps of calculating differential phase shifts of range bins of ground clutters, and storing the differential phase shift with the highest occurrence frequency; calculating the standard deviation of differential phase shifts stored within the latest first time length; if the standard deviation calculated at the present time is less than a preset standard deviation threshold, when the difference between the differential phase shift stored at the present time and the current system differential phase shift is greater than a preset threshold, updating the current system differential phase shift to be the differential phase shift stored at the present time; and if the standard deviation calculated at the present time is greater than the preset standard deviation threshold, comparing the current system differential phase shift with a maximum value of differential phase shifts stored within a latest second time length and a minimum value of the differential phase shifts stored within the latest second time length, and if the current system differential phase shift is greater than the maximum value or less than the minimum value, updating the current system differential phase shift to be an average value of the differential phase shifts stored within the latest second time length. The system differential phase shift can be updated timely according to the method provided by the invention.
