Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses an access point communication method and an access point. The method comprises steps: a first access point transmits multiple RTS (request to send) frames to a second access point, wherein the multiple RTS frames are corresponding to multiple timeout durations, the correspondence between the multiple RTS frames and the multiple timeout durations is dual mapping, and any two timeout durations in the multiple timeout durations are different; after the first access point transmits each RTS frame in the multiple RTS frames, a corresponding CTS (clear to send) frame tries to be received in the timeout duration corresponding to each RTS frame; and the first access point determines the timeout duration of the CTS frame, wherein the timeout duration of the CTS frame is one with the minimum element value in a timeout duration set, and the timeout duration set is the timeout duration set corresponding to at least one RTS frame for receiving the corresponding CTS frame in the multiple RTS frames.
