Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a clearing method for email attachments in a mobile terminal and a mobile terminal. The method comprises the steps of synchronizing at least a part of emails from an email server and storing the same; selecting the target email meeting a clearing condition from the stored emails; and deleting attachments carried in the target emails and downloaded to the local. According to the clearing method provided by the embodiment of the invention, automatic clearing of the email attachments is achieved, and storage space of the mobile terminal is released; the cleared target emails still exist in an original folder and are not deleted from the mobile terminal, main bodies and other content of the cleared emails in the mobile terminal can be browsed normally, and clearing of the emails is performed in the mobile terminal without influencing the original emails on an email server, so that the attachments are not deleted from the email server and still can be downloaded and recovered from the email server after being deleted in the mobile terminal, and thus normal usage of the emails is ensured.
