Abstract

Embodiments of the invention provide a method and device for starting a camera in a mobile terminal and the mobile terminal. The camera is embedded in a cavity of the mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps of: carrying out fingerprint verification in the mobile terminal; and when the fingerprint verification succeeds, enabling the camera to pop out from the cavity of the mobile terminal, and starting a camera application. On one hand, the camera is embedded in the cavity of the mobile terminal, so that the area occupation for the surface of the mobile terminal can be decreased and the screen-to-body ratio can be improved; and on the other hand, the camera is directly started through fingerprint verification, so that the users can be prevented from starting the camera in a manner of searching and starting the camera application, and the starting speed of the built-in camera is improved.
