The cell searching method is used for a mobile device of a wireless communication system, and comprises the following steps: carrying out a primary synchronization signal receiving time detection program to obtain at least one possible receiving time point of the primary synchronization signal; carrying out a primary synchronization signal hypothesis program to generate a first frequency domain primary synchronization sequence, a second frequency domain primary synchronization sequence and a third frequency domain primary synchronization sequence in a frequency domain according to three radical exponents respectively corresponding to a first physical-layer identity, a second physical-layer identity and a third physical-layer identity; and carrying out a secondary synchronization signal coherence detection program, so that secondary synchronization signals are calculated respectively through the first frequency domain primary synchronization sequence, the second frequency domain primary synchronization sequence and the third frequency domain primary synchronization sequence according to the one possible receiving time point, and corresponding physical-layer cell-identity groups are obtained.
