Automatic building of neighbor lists in mobile system

In a radio access network (24) a femto radio base station (28f) comprises a resident receiver (54) which acquires system information broadcast in a radio access network (24). At least part of the system information is used for building, at the femto radio base station (28f), a neighbor data structure (59) comprising information for neighboring cells. The neighbor data structure (59) is then used for building a neighbor list. The neighbor list is subsequently transmitted from the femto radio base station (28f) to a user equipment unit (30) served by the femto radio base station (28f). In some example embodiments and modes, the femto radio base station (28f) reports the neighbor data structure to a network node (26, 100) other than the femto radio base station. The other node (26, 100) uses the neighbor data structure for building the neighbor list at the other node. In some example embodiments and modes, acquisition of the system information comprises scanning a surrounding macro coverage area of the femto radio base station for obtaining cell identity information for detected cells. In other example embodiments and modes, the acquisition of the system information can additionally comprise camping on a macro cell and using/consulting at least one system information block in the camped-on macro cell is consulted/used for obtaining information about at least one neighboring cell.

Date Aug. 22, 1996The position of a mobile station in a cellular mobile telephone system, particularly a GSM system, is determined by carrying out a simulated call setup, i.e., the call setup is interrupted subsequent to a telephone switching center (MSC) having received a paging response containing the identity of the cell and, optionally, a timing advance. The simulated call setup is initiated by generating a modified short message signal (SMS) which is not registered in the SMS catalogue of the mobile station and which is not shown to the user of the mobile station. The SMS commands the mobile station to carry out a position determining sequence in order to establish parameters for use in establishing the position of the mobile station, for example by commanding the mobile station to connect itself to a base station contained in its neighbor list, analyze the geographical position of the base station, and subsequently send the position determining parameters to a position handler. The geographical position of the base station is analyzed from the cell identity and, if available, the timing advance, the position of the mobile station being presented graphically on a picture screen and constantly updated after each call setup. The call setups are generated by the position handler.

Method and system for sending measurement reference signal, base station and relay station

The invention provides a method and a system for sending a measurement reference signal. The invention adopts the technical scheme that the configuration information of a relay station for sending a measurement reference signal is set in a base station, and the relay station is used for generating the measurement reference signal and sending the generated measurement reference signal according to the received configuration information for sending the measurement reference signal, wherein the configuration information is used for the relay station for determining the sub-frame position information sent by the measurement reference signal, and the measurement reference signal of the relay station and the measurement reference signal of the base station are sent in a time division mode. Through the technical scheme, the scheme of issuing the configuration information by the base station and sending the measurement reference signal by the relay station is provided in an LTE-A (Long Term Evolution-Advanced) system of the relay station without an independent PCID (Physical Cell Identity), thereby realizing the measurement of channel conditions from the relay station to a UE (User Equipment) link of the UE. The invention also provides the base station and the relay station, which realize the method for sending the measurement reference signal.

Inter-base-station cell switching method and system

The invention provides an inter-base-station cell switching method and system. The method includes that a source cell sends an inter-base-station cell switching request when a target cell determined according to signal quality detecting information reported by UE is a neighbor cell of the source cell and is in the same base station of the source cell; the target cell receives the inter-base-station cell switching request, reserves resource required by the UE for residing in the target cell and replying switching request confirmation information to the source cell; the source cell receives the switching request confirmation information and sends RRC reconfiguration request information to the UE; the target cell receives reconfiguration completion information sent by the UE, configures an S1 common channel, updates a mark of a cell of the UE newly resides and a UE mark distributed for the UE by the target cell, and sending resource release indication information to the source cell; the source cell receives resource release indication information and performing corresponding resource release operation according to switching state information of the UE. According to the embodiment of the invention, decrease of time delay of switching between cells of the same base station by the UE is realized and the switching performance is improved.
