Problems solved by technology

While such techniques can achieve acceptable performance with low computational complexity when interference is weak, performance degrades as interference becomes stronger, which is often the case in dense wireless networks
Specifically, at high SNR / INR bounds, the performance of processing interference into noise is significantly different from simultaneous decoding

Embodiment Construction

[0021] This patent document relates to methods and systems for encoding and decoding data streams for a communication channel using multiple pairs of transmitters and receivers. Most existing communication systems using traditional point-to-point channel coding treat interference as noise. Although this simple scheme achieves good performance with low computational complexity when interference is weak, performance degrades as interference becomes stronger, which is often the case in dense wireless networks.

[0022] Over the past decades, several techniques at different protocol layers have been proposed to mitigate the adverse effects of interference in wireless networks. An important conceptual technique at the physical layer is simultaneous decoding, where each receiver decodes part or all of the desired signal as well as the interference. Simultaneous decoding techniques achieve best performance for two-user Gaussian interference channels using good point-to-point codes w...

Abstract

The disclosed techniques allow signal streams to be transmitted from a sender to a receiver in an environment that includes multiple senders and receivers. Techniques for the sender: decode the data stream from the sender into multiple sub-streams; encode the sub-streams by codewords; also superimpose multiple codewords to form a signal stream in an asynchronous manner; and transmit the signal stream to the receiver device. Codewords can span multiple blocks. Receiver: Receives the first codeword stream from the first transmitter; receives the second codeword stream from the second transmitter, and the two codeword streams can be received as one signal at the same time; and in the sliding of multiple blocks The first codeword stream and the second codeword stream are decoded on the window.
