Abstract

The invention discloses a detection method and apparatus for a virtual machine business network port. The method is applied to a host machine. A first virtual exchanger is arranged on the host machine. A virtual detection network port is arranged on the first virtual exchanger. The method comprises the steps of establishing a second communication path between the first virtual exchanger and a target network according to a first communication path between the virtual machine business network port and the target network, wherein the second communication path covers the first communication path;and according to the second communication path, detecting network connectivity between the virtual detection network port and the target network, and according to a detection result, judging network connectivity between the virtual machine business network port and the target network. The application network connectivity of the virtual machine business network port can be detected in the host machine, so that relatively few system resources of a virtual machine are occupied and the network detection still can be effectively performed when a system of the virtual machine is busy.
