Abstract

The method comprisesthe steps: building the connection between the IPMI and to-be-upgraded equipment, wherein the to-be-upgraded equipment comprises a first operation maintenance entity and a second operation maintenance entity; carrying out the power-off operation of the first operation maintenance entity through the IPMI, and upgrading the second operation maintenance entity; judging whether the upgraded to-be-upgraded equipment operates normally or not: enabling the first and second operation maintenance entities to be automatically synchronized to the upgraded version if the upgraded to-be-upgraded equipmentoperates normally, or else enabling the first and second operation maintenance entities to return to the former version. According to the embodiment of the invention, the method achieves the purposeof automatic and remote upgrading based on a conventional upgrading flow through the added IPMI, and enables the equipment to return to a former version easily when the upgrading fails.
