The Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) is a set of computer interface specifications for an autonomous computer subsystem that provides management and monitoring capabilities independently of the host system's CPU, firmware (BIOS or UEFI) and operating system. IPMI defines a set of interfaces used by system administrators for out-of-band management of computer systems and monitoring of their operation. For example, IPMI provides a way to manage a computer that may be powered off or otherwise unresponsive by using a network connection to the hardware rather than to an operating system or login shell. Another use case may be installing a custom operating system remotely. Without IPMI, installing a custom operating system may require an administrator to be physically present near the computer, insert a DVD or a USB flash drive containing the OS installer and complete the installation process using a monitor and a keyboard. Using IPMI, an administrator can mount an ISO image, simulate an installer DVD, and perform the installation remotely.

Virtual reality method for intelligent home management

The invention discloses a virtual reality method for intelligent home management. The method comprises the steps of: carrying out correlation on actual home electrical equipment with which an intelligent home management center is connected and virtual home electrical equipment presented by virtual reality equipment; generating a three-dimensional interactive scene and presenting the virtual home electrical equipment in the three-dimensional interactive scene; acquiring a virtual operation instruction executed on the virtual home electrical equipment by a user; and mapping the virtual operation instruction into an actual operation instruction of the actual home electrical equipment correlated with the virtual home electrical equipment, and sending the actual operation instruction to the intelligent home management center so as to implement a corresponding operation on the actual home electrical equipment. By the method, when people use the virtual reality equipment, the operation instruction can be sent to the virtual home electrical equipment in the three-dimensional interactive scene generated by the virtual reality equipment so as to control the actual home electrical equipment to execute the operation, thereby implementing linkage of the virtual reality equipment and the actual home electrical equipment, providing three-dimensional perception for the user and facilitating the user controlling intelligent home electrical equipment.

Method for carrying out startup and shutdown testing on blade server

The invention provides a method for carrying out startup and shutdown testing on a blade server and belongs to a computer communication technology. The method comprises the following specific implementing steps that a control end monitors a BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) of each blade by an SMC (System Management Controller); when the control end reads a state of each blade in the BMC of the blade by an IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) tool and if the state of the blade is a shutdown state, the control end starts up the tested blade by an IPMI tool command; after each blade is started up, the blade waits for 3 to 5 minutes and the control end pings a network card IP (Internet Protocol) of the tested blade; if each tested blade is switched on by the Ping operation, a result that the blade normally enters a system is indicated; the control end shuts down each blade by an IPMI tool command; and the steps are cycled to implement automatic startup and shutdown pressure testing. Compared with the prior art, the method for carrying out startup and shutdown testing on the blade server is convenient for test personnel to rapidly find problems and preliminarily judge time when the blades go wrong and possibility that the blades possibly go wrong.
