Embodiment Construction

[0023] Below according to accompanying drawing of description, in conjunction with specific embodiment, the present invention is further described:

[0024] Such as figure 1 As shown, a method for setting and synchronizing BIOS configuration parameters in an out-of-band manner, the content of the method is as follows:

[0025] 1) BMC provides IPMI protocol commands for obtaining and setting BIOS parameters:

[0026] One is used for BIOS to obtain out-of-band parameters stored in BMC; the other is used for BIOS to send local parameters to BMC;

[0027] 2) BIOS local parameter synchronization, BIOS obtains out-of-band parameters, and synchronizes out-of-band parameters to local parameters, such as figure 2 Shown:

[0028] After the server is powered on, the BIOS requests the out-of-band parameters from the BMC through the IPMI protocol command. After obtaining the out-of-band parameters, it needs to be compared with the local parameters, and the different parameter items in ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for setting and synchronizing BIOS configuration parameters through an out-of-band mode. A server is matched with a BMC monitoring management chip, an intelligent platform management interface (IPMI) drive is arranged on the server, the BMC and the BIOS communicate through the IPMI protocol, and IPMI protocol instructions for obtaining and setting of the BIOS parameters are provided through the BMC; the BIOS obtains out-of-band parameters saved in the BMC through the IPMI protocol instructions; the BIOS synchronizes the out-of-band parameters to the BIOS local; the BIOS sends the local parameters to the BMC through the IPMI protocol instructions during updating of users; the BMC receives the local parameters to synchronize the local parameters to the out-of-band parameters. By the aid of the method, the BIOS parameters can be checked through the network remotely and can be set remotely; the method can be used for batch setting of the BIOS parameters, and for large-scale server rooms, the advantage is apparent; safe and reliable synchronous logic is provided, and chaos during BIOS and BMC parameter synchronization is prevented.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of server monitoring and management, in particular to a method for setting and synchronizing BIOS configuration parameters in an out-of-band manner, which is convenient for administrators to remotely check and set BIOS options. Background technique [0002] Server out-of-band monitoring and management is an important means of server management and maintenance. BMC (Server Base Board Controller) management chips are widely used in servers as the core equipment for out-of-band monitoring and management. Administrators can obtain server health status, Control server operation, set server parameters, etc. [0003] BIOS (Basic Input / Output System Basic Input / Output System) is an important device for starting a server and booting into the operating system, and different BIOS parameter settings are often required for different servers. According to the traditional method, the administrator often needs to enter the BIOS sett...
