Problems solved by technology

Scanline-based imaging systems also have inherent frame rate limitations, which create difficulties when attempting to image moving objects in 4D
[0008] Due to these and other factors, some of the limitations of existing 2D and 3D ultrasound imaging systems and methods include poor temporal and spatial resolution, imaging depth, speckle noise, poor lateral resolution, blurred tissue, and other such problem

Embodiment Construction

[0039] Various embodiments will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. References made to specific examples and implementations are for illustrative purposes, and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention or the claims.

[0040]The present disclosure provides systems and methods for using high speed ultrasound techniques for detecting motion of an object, tissue, or substance within an imaged medium. Embodiments of the ultrasonic motion detection systems and methods described herein may provide various advantages not met by other available systems. Such advantages may include potential motion detection frame rates up to 10,000 frames / second, motion detection latencies under 10 ms, and the ability to detect and track motion with an accuracy on a scale much smaller than the wavelength of the ultrasound used. The techniques described here can be used to detect and track motion of a point smaller than any resolvable object in the ultrasound...

Abstract

Ping-based imaging systems may be used for tracking motion of hard or soft objects within an imaged medium. Motion detection and motion tracking may be performed by defining fingerprint points and tracking the position of each fingerprint point based on the echoes of multiple transmitted pings.
