[0044] exist figure 1 In , a detection system 10 for automatically detecting at least one broadband interference is shown. figure 2 The signal of the broadband interferer in the time-frequency region is shown in , where the time-frequency region includes several signals, especially the signal of the broadband interferer as a chirp signal. A chirp signal is a broadband frequency modulated signal. Thus, as can be seen, the frequency of the chirp signal varies with time.

[0045] Generally, a time-frequency region may also be called a time-frequency plane.

[0046] The detection system 10 includes, inter alia, a processing unit 12 configured to perform as will be referred to below image 3 The described method for automatically detecting broadband interference. The processing unit 12 is connected to an antenna system 14 for receiving incoming signals.

Abstract

A method for detecting broadband interferer is described wherein a time-frequency area of incoming signals is determined by means of a spectrogram. A spectral kurtosis is used such that a spectral kurtosis value is calculated for each frequency bin of the incoming signals. A time domain analysis is performed in order to identify significant points of the significant frequency bins which have beeninvestigated by spectral kurtosis previously. The significant points are evaluated in order to determine whether these significant points correspond to at least one broadband interferer.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method and a detection system for detecting at least one broadband disturbance in the time-frequency region. Background technique [0002] Typically, a broadband interferer such as a radar signal may emit a broadband frequency-modulated signal covering at least part of the frequency range to be analyzed. Thus, wideband interference can disrupt the detection of other more narrowband signals to be analyzed so that these signals cannot be evaluated automatically. For example, broadband scrambling signals, also known as chirps, are used by scientists to investigate the ionosphere. The time dependence of chirp signals with respect to their frequency can be linear or non-linear. Specific chirp signals are also called transients. [0003] Before analyzing the time-frequency region or other signals in the time-frequency plane, the location of the interference must be determined by marking the relevant points in the time-frequency ...
