The method comprises the following steps: acquiring the traffic flow data of M intersections; establishing a multidimensional vector corresponding to each intersection according to the traffic flow data of each intersection; dividing the M intersections into K sets through a PAM algorithm according to the multidimensional vector corresponding to each intersection, wherein each intersection is assigned to the nearest set; and determining the center point of each set according to the multidimensional vector corresponding toeach intersection. The invention provides a basic data basis and a reliable classification criterion for the classification of intersections. A good foundation is laid for the design of reasonable traffic management schemes for all kinds of intersections.
