The invention discloses an image processing apparatus. The image processing apparatus includes: a first color erasing unit that performs a color erasing process on a medium on which an image is formedby using a color erasable recording material; and a communication unit that communicates with another image processing apparatus, wherein another image processing apparatus includes a second color erasing unit that performs a color erasing process on a medium on which an image is formed by using a color erasable recording material; a memory that stores job information; and a controller that performs management on a job stored in the memory, and the controller determines, based on the information from the communication unit and the job information, whether the color erasing process is performed by the first color erasing unit or the second color erasing unit.
