However, since both force application and touch are detected by the same sensor system, input devices cannot reliably distinguish between user-generated vibrations and external vibrations
Continuous force input from the user could be mistaken for external vibrations and incorrectly discarded

Embodiment Construction

[0043] figure 1 A cross-sectional view of the first exemplary embodiment of the input device 10 is shown. The input device 10 can be installed in a motor vehicle or a mobile device (eg, a tablet or smartphone) in a fixed manner.

[0044] The input device 10 includes a functional unit 12 having a touch sensitive surface 14, wherein the touch sensitive surface 14 is disposed on one side of the functional unit 12. The display unit 16 is disposed separately from the side of the function unit 12 to the functional unit. The touch sensitive surface 14 can transmit light such that the display unit 16 is visible to the user through the touch sensitive surface. The functional unit 12 and the surface of the display unit 16 are substantially extended parallel to each other.

[0045] In an alternative form, the display unit is formed in a single unit with the touch sensitive surface 14. This single unit is formed figure 1 At least a portion of the functional unit 12. In this case, the functio...

Abstract

An input device is described comprising a touch-sensitive surface and a force sensor, wherein the force sensor is adapted to detect a force applied to the touch-sensitive surface. The input device also includes a vibration sensor and a control unit, wherein the control unit is coupled to the force sensor, the touch-sensitive surface, and the vibration sensor. The control unit is adapted to confirm the force detected by the force sensor as an input based on the touch to the touch-sensitive surface and the vibration detected by the vibration sensor. A motor vehicle comprising the input device is also described. A method for detecting input of an input device is also described.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present disclosure generally relates to the field of input devices for performing user input. Specifically, an input device is proposed, the input device including a vibration sensor for verifying an input. It also provides a corresponding verification method. Background technique [0002] The input device is used in many technical systems, such as screens, mobile phones, motor vehicles, and tablets. [0003] Touch-sensitive is increasingly used in the input device. These surfaces can be operated intuitively, and with the display unit, it is possible to provide optical feedback to the user during being touched. The input device can also include a force sensor that detects the force applied on the touch sensitive surface. For example, the user can move the mouse pointer to the switch symbol by means of the touch sensitive surface, and the operation of the switch symbol is triggered by applying an increase in force on the touch sensitive surface. [0004]...
