Embodiments of the invention provide a traffic light control system and method, the system comprises a vehicle sensor, a communication unit, a logic processor, and traffic lights. The vehicle sensor is used for obtaining traffic condition information, and sending the traffic condition information to the communication unit, and the communication unit is used for sending the received traffic condition information to a cloud server, receiving a cloud instruction from the cloud server, and sending the cloud instruction to the logic processor.
