Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses a forwarding service chain generation method and a network function virtualization orchestrator (NFVO). The method is applied to a network function virtualization (NFV) system. The NFV system comprises the network function virtualization orchestrator (NFVO), and at least one virtual function module. The virtual function module is deployed on at least one physical machine. The method comprises the steps that the NFVO obtains forwarding service chain generation information, wherein the forwarding service chain generation information comprises forwardingrelationship information, deployment relationship information and physical machine resource usage information; and a forwarding service chain is determined according to the forwarding service chain generation information, wherein the resource efficiency and the forwarding efficiency of the NFV system under the forwarding service chain satisfy a preset condition at the same time. Under the condition that a physical topology is not sensed by an application, the relatively high resource efficiency and forwarding efficiency can be obtained at the same time.
