Abstract

The invention discloses a testing circuit and a control method for a fault current limiter. The testing circuit comprises 3 parts of a charging loop, an oscillating loop, and a sample loop. The oscillating loop comprises oscillating a first oscillating capacitor and a second oscillating capacitor, an oscillating inductor, a main control switch, and a capacitance oscillating control switch. The sample loop is a fault current limiter. The control method comprises the following steps: placing the main control switch of the oscillating loop in a split position, and placing the fault current limiter in the sample loop in an unoperated state; the charging loop charging the first oscillating capacitor and the second oscillating capacitor; disconnecting the connection switch of the charging loop and the oscillating loop after charging is completed; switching on the main control switch of the oscillating loop; resonance between the oscillating capacitor and the oscillating inductance generatingtest currents to flow through the sample loop; the fault current limiter operates after the test current reaches the operation threshold value thereof, transferring the current to an internal current-limiting inductor, meanwhile turning on control switch for the capacitor oscillation, so that the first oscillating capacitor exits the oscillation; making the second oscillating capacitor, the oscillating inductor, and the internal current-limiting inductor of the sample loop in the oscillating loop start oscillating, wherein the testing frequency is guaranteed to be consistent.
