Embodiment Construction

[0034] Refer to figure 1 with Figure 16 to Figure 18 The connector 10 according to the embodiment of the present invention can be mated with the mating connector 60 in the up-down direction (Z direction: mating direction). Refer to Figure 17 The connector 10 is mounted on the main surface 72 of the circuit board 70 when in use, and the mating connector 60 is mounted on the main mating surface 82 of the mating circuit board 80 when in use. Therefore, each of the connector 10 and the mating connector 60 is an on-board connector. In addition, the connector 10 is a socket, and the mating connector 60 is a plug. However, the present invention is not limited to this, but can be applied to various connectors.

[0035] Refer to figure 1 with figure 2 The mating connector 60 includes a mating housing 610 made of an insulator, a plurality of mating terminals 630 each made of a conductor, and two mating pressing plates 640 each made of metal.

[0036] Refer to figure 2 , The mating ho...

Abstract

A connector is mateable with a mating connector along an upper-lower direction (Z-direction). The connector comprises a housing and a terminal. The housing has a holding portion and an upstanding portion which are apart from each other in a width direction (Y-direction). The upstanding portion has a stop portion. The terminal has a held portion held by the holding portion and a spring portion extending from the held portion. The spring portion has a base portion and an upward extending portion extending upward from the base portion. The upward extending portion has a facing portion which facesthe upstanding portion in the width direction. The facing portion has a stopped portion. Under a mated state where the connector and the mating connector are mated with each other, the stop portion is located above the stopped portion and faces the stopped portion in the upper-lower direction.

Description

Technical field [0001] The invention relates to a connector that can be mated with a mating connector in the up and down direction. Background technique [0002] For example, this type of connector is disclosed in JP 4454651B (Patent Document 1) and JP 4574692B (Patent Document 2), the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. [0003] Refer to Figure 21 , Patent Document 1 discloses an embodiment of a connector 92 that can be mated with the mating connector 94 in the vertical direction. The connector 92 includes a housing 920 and a plurality of terminals 930 held by the housing 920. The housing 920 has a central protrusion 922. Each terminal 930 has an elastic part (spring part) 932 and a locking protrusion (abutting part) 934 provided on the spring part 932. When the connector 92 is not mated with the mating connector 94 (not shown), the abutting portion 934 is separated from the wall surface 924 of the central protrusion 922, and the spring portion 932 can be el...
