Abstract

The invention provides a BIOS password setting method for a basic input / output system, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining a password configuration file which is signed by a certificate private key, and enabling the password configuration file to comprise configuration information used for setting the configuration of a BIOS; verifying the signed password configuration file through a pre-stored target certificate public key to verify whether the password configuration file is signed by a target certificate private key matched with the target certificate public key or not; and settingthe configuration of the BIOS based on the configuration information in the password configuration file under the condition that the password configuration file is verified to be signed by the targetcertificate private key matched with the target certificate public key.
