Abstract

A safety control apparatus for an autonomous parking system includes: a sensor collecting data of a vehicle; a communication device transmitting a message informing a presence of a passenger in the vehicle to a driver terminal depending on whether the passenger is present in the vehicle; a driver device performing an autonomous parking operation when the autonomous parking operation for the vehicle is selected through the driver terminal; and a controller determining whether the passenger is present in the vehicle before the autonomous parking operation. The controller also determines whetherthe passenger in the vehicle intends to exit the vehicle, and controls an operation of the driver device during the autonomous parking operation.
