The method comprises the steps of scanning a region from the edge of an infant bed to an inside threshold distance; in response tothe condition that an infant enters the area, shooting an infant image and generating image data; performing fuzzy matching on the image data and a database; based on the matching, judging a predictedmovement direction and the current position of the infant; and sending an alarm to infant parents in response to the condition that the distance between the current position and the edge is smaller than an alarm threshold value and the predicted movement direction points to the edge. By use of the method and the system disclosed by the invention, the infant can be prevented from rolling down fromthe bed in the sleep process to cause an accident; the infant can be prevented from colliding with bed boards; and suffocation caused by the fact that the infant is clamped between the bed boards isavoided.
