Abstract

The invention provides a structured light projector for generating a far field image of an optical point through a predetermined pattern. The structured light projector comprises a light source used for providing a non-collimated light beam as an output and a special diffractive optical element which is arranged to intercept the non-collimated light beam. The special diffractive optical element isformed to present non-uniform grating characteristic patterns configured to compensate non-plane wave front and phase delay of the non-collimated output beam, thereby providing an interference pattern having the optical point of the required configuration as an output of the projector.
