Abstract

A maintenance foothold for a car door device, comprising a foothold body having a foothold surface and a car door beam part for supporting the foothold body. When not in use, the foothold body is supported by the car door beam part in a first position that does not protrude, when viewed from above, into a hoistway from the car door beam part. When in use, the foothold body is supported by the cardoor beam part in a second position that protrudes, when viewed from above, into the hoistway from the car door beam part. When the foothold body is supported in the second position by the car door beam part, the foothold surface is parallel to the upper face of the car door beam part.
