Problems solved by technology

[0011] · Prior art solutions propose a joint design of DM-RS and PT-RS, but this design is limited to the case where only one DM-RS instance is scheduled in a slot; and
[0012] · Pilot pollution may occur, making it necessary to control the overhead of the total resources used by the reference signal

Embodiment 1

[0103] Example 1. A method of jointly scheduling a phase tracking reference signal PT-RS with a demodulation reference signal DM-RS, the method comprising:

[0104] scheduling DM-RSs in a time-frequency resource grid at multiple frequencies in the same slot; and

[0105] PT-RSs in the time-frequency grid are scheduled at multiple time slots at the same frequency, and the time slots at which the PT-RSs are scheduled depend on the location of the DM-RS.

Embodiment 2

[0106] Example 2. The method according to embodiment 1, wherein the temporal density of PT-RS depends on the selected modulation and coding scheme.

Embodiment 3

[0107] Example 3. The method of any one of embodiments 1 and 2, wherein the temporal density is one-half.

Abstract

A method, network node and wireless device in a wireless communication system for one of transmitting and receiving a phase-tracking reference signal, PT- RS. The method includes obtaining informationabout a position in a time domain of a scheduled first demodulation reference signal, DM-RS, in a slot, and one of transmitting and receiving the PT-RS within the slot, the position of the PT-RS depending on the position in the time domain of the scheduled first DM-RS.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to wireless communication, and in particular to a method, a network node and a wireless device for jointly scheduling a phase tracking reference signal PT-RS with a demodulation reference signal DM-RS. Background technique [0002] The physical layer of New Radio (NR), the third generation partnership project (3GPP) fifth generation (5G) mobile radio system, is expected to handle a large number of different transmission scenarios by operating on frequency ranges from sub-1 GHz to 100 GHz. Long Term Evolution (LTE) does not support carrier frequencies higher than 6GHz, so NR requires a new flexible design of the physical layer, which provides good performance over a wider frequency range than that of LTE. [0003] Similar to LTE, NR will use an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) based waveform, where reference signals and physical layer channels are mapped on a grid of time-frequency resources. NR has an ul...
