Abstract

The invention discloses a method and system for regulating and controlling the number of ions in an ion trap mass analyzer of a mass spectrometer. The method comprises the steps of presetting the opening duration of a discontinuous sample injection interface, and introducing ions of a to-be-detected sample into an ion trap; carrying out initial mass spectrum analysis on the ions of the to-be-detected sample, storing and analyzing various initial parameters, and outputting initial mass spectrum information; analyzing the number of ions which enter the ion trap and are stored, and changing eachinitial parameter to regulate and control the number of ions; establishing a relation model between each initial parameter and the number of ions through a pre-experiment, carrying out gain compensation on the spectral peak intensity obtained after regulation and control, and determining each optimal initial parameter; and carrying out mass spectrometric analysis by using the optimal initial parameters, and outputting a mass spectrogram of which the spectral peak intensity corresponds to the sample concentration. According to the method, the dynamic range of the concentration of the sample which can be detected by the portable mass spectrometer can be greatly improved, meanwhile, the sensitivity, the resolution ratio, the quality accuracy and other properties are also remarkably improved,and the capacity of the portable mass spectrometer for treating complex samples is also enhanced.
