Abstract

The present invention relates to an oral composition used for indicating proper tooth cleaning and provides an oral care composition. The oral care composition comprises at least 0.5% by weight of silica agglomerates wherein each said silica agglomerate has: (i) a total particle size of 200 [mu] m to 2000 [mu] m, and (ii) a crushing strength of 0.1 N to 5 N; wherein the silica particles constituting the silica agglomerate have an average particle size of 1 [mu] m to 50 [mu] m; and wherein the composition has a viscosity of from 10 BKU to 90 BKU. The invention also provides a method of encouraging correct tooth cleaning by administering the oral care composition of the invention to the tooth surface of a subject. The invention also provides the use of a silica agglomerate for the manufacture of an oral care composition to encourage correct tooth cleaning.
